Dean Ford - Guitar
Founding member of 'the fin', born and bred in Hornchurch, Essex...
The first song that put Dean onto the slippery path of rock n roll
was 'Dream On' by (early) Aerosmith and he built on those foundations
by listening to albums such as Nothing's Shocking (Janes Addiction)
and Mother's Milk (RHCP).
Dean first picked up a guitar at school but lost interest fairly quickly,
however at college when he met Pete (after drinking copius amounts of
vodka and subsequently working together in a girls clothes shop, the best
job they ever had!!!!!) they started many random musical side projects
together and he quickly found his musical ways again.
Early Retrofin riffs were inspired by Dean spending hours listening to
the solo works of John Frusciante, who remains his main influence, other
than alcohol.
Fact; Dean is the owner of Pete's family heirloom; an upright piano
(although it still needs to be re-tuned after transporting it in the band's
old VW Camper Van 'Henry').
